 This is an important position helping the crew complete its mission successfully. Volunteers who work in this support role perform tasks that assist Wildland Firefighters in the Operations Section. This opportunity helps lend support in any of the following three sections: Planning, Logistics and Administration. The Planning Section tasks include: collecting, evaluating and displaying incident intelligence and information; preparing Incident Action Plans; conducting long-range and/or contingency planning, maintaining incident documentation and tracking assigned resources. The Logistics Section tasks include: ordering, obtaining, maintaining and accounting for essential equipment and supplies; providing communication planning and resources, food services, transportation services and medical services. The Administration Section tasks include contract negotiation, timekeeping, cost analysis and compensation. To be eligible to join, you must be at least 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen and have no felony arrests or convictions. You must also have a valid Colorado drivers license, a high school diploma or a GED. Applicants must also pass a background check, an oral interview, and attend a 7-day/evening wildland fire academy.
