Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on November 2, 2009 |
We are asking the citizens of Colorado Springs to put coins into the meters instead of giving them to panhandlers, who will, in nearly every case, use the money for alcohol or drugs. All monies collected in the meter will be used to benefit clients in our Housing First Pikes Peak Program, which works with chronically homeless, mentally ill substance abusers.Approximately once a month a volunteer will pick up your full bank bag and give you a replacement. The volunteer will put your meter number on a slip of paper and place it in the side pocket of the bank bag and will then take the bag to the bank for coin counting and deposit. That’s all there is to the procedure.
This opportunity is sponsored by: Housing First Pikes Peak
