Volunteer Opportunity Details:

We need business-savvy people with a heart for people with developmental disabilities who will proactively help us perform our mission, to build independence for people with developmental disabilities. The Board of Directors meet once a month, with Committee duties sometimes meeting more frequently. We seek to diversify our Board and encourage others to help us expand our ethnic and cultural reach. The Board governs a strong staff highly committed to the mission, and supports the efforts of TRE in its community.

All Board members are expected to contribute financially to the organization, and/or proactively assist with fundraising functions. Governance experience a plus, knowledge and/or experience with Medicaid/Medicare/State health and human service funding even better. We have several people with disabilities who serve and contribute magnificently - only limitations to board service will be age (18 years minimum, to legally contract to confidentiality clauses and HIPPA requirements). All potential board members will be screened for specific character and expertise needed at the time for adequate Board representation.
