The mission of the Alzheimer's Association is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
Description:
We provide community leadership in education and training, patient and family services, outreach and advocacy. We provide 5 core services that are essential to providing service to professionals and families: Help line, Care Consultation, Education, Support Groups and Safe Return.
History:
The Alzheimer’s Association, founded in 1980, is the only national voluntary health organization dedicated both to research for the causes, treatments, cures and preventions of Alzheimer’s Disease as well as to provide education and support for people with the disease, their families and caregivers. We also serve individuals and families who are dealing with other diseases that cause dementia symptoms.
