Ronald McDonald House Charities lifts children and families to a better tomorrow by supporting Ronald McDonald Houses homes-away-from-home for families of seriously ill children staying at nearby hospitals; and, making grants to other programs that help children and their families.

Description:
The Ronald McDonald House of Southern Colorado provides a home-away-from-home to families with premature babies in the (NICU) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. The House will accept youth and adults, but the first priority is families with premature babies.

History:
The Ronald McDonald House of Southern Colorado, "The House That Love Built" opened its doors on February 14, 1987. In the early 1980's, Dr. John Ginrich noticed a need for this type of a service in the Colorado Springs area and he began drumming up support for local McDonald's, the Junior League and other organizations.
