Our mission is to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to minister to the spirit, soul and body of the poor and homeless of Colorado Springs, meeting both their physical and spiritual needs.
Description:
Springs Rescue Mission provides services that include hot meals, emergency services, addiction recovery for men, education and vocational training. Meals are served Monday through Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Emergency Services is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:30 to 3:45 p.m. and provides food boxes, furniture, clothing and household items. Our one-year New Life Program for men provides an opportunity for recovery and rehabilitation from an addictive lifestyle.
History:
Springs Rescue Mission began in 1996 when its founding members, Paul and Marilyn Vyzourek, began distributing sandwiches from the back of a van to the homeless population of Colorado Springs. It has since grown to twelve full-time and four part-time staff housed in a four-story administrative building in the downtown area. Since its inception, Springs Rescue Mission has provided over 1 million meals to local poor and homeless.
