Mission: To help children reach their full potential through professionally supported one-to-one volunteer mentoring relationships with measurable impact.

Description:
In our own lives, each of us was touched by someone - other than our parents - who broadened our horizons and brought a little magic into our lives. By becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister in one of our programs, you can do the same for a child. And you will both be forever changed by the experience.

For nearly 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been placing a caring adult in the life of a child. That's what our unique approach to youth development is all about-and it works! Just think about it: Young adolescents saying no to drugs and alcohol, improving their school attendance, getting along better with their families and peers - all because they had Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

In 2008, BBBS-Pikes Peak served over 500 children in the Pikes Peak Region.

History:
The BBBS movement was founded in 1904 in New York City. Our statewide agency was one of the 13 original agencies that banded together to form the BBBS of America federation in the 1940’s. The precursor to BBBS of Colorado, Inc. was established in 1918 and thus, we are the oldest mentoring program in Colorado. BBBS-Pikes Peak began serving youth in Colorado Springs in 1968. In 2008, 500 youth received mentoring services from BBBS-PP.
