Friends Of The Fountain Fund
The mission of the Friends of the Fountain Fund is to secure and maintain financial support for certain capital and operating costs of the Uncle Wilber Fountain. In so doing, we assist the City in preserving this joyful community asset for the benefit of residents and visitor alike.
Description:
The Uncle Wilber Fountain is open every day from Memorial Day through Labor Day with the Opening Day celebration this year on Saturday, May 23rd from 11am-3pm. It is fun-filled, FREE, and accessible to all, open to thousands of citizens of all ages and physical abilities who eagerly await Uncle Wilber's yearly return for the summer. The Friends of the Fountain Fund organizes and hosts this event.
History:
The Friends of the Fountain Fund was formed in 2001 as a part of the donation agreement between the City of Colorado Springs and the Smokebrush Foundation for the Arts in order to raise monies for capital and operation costs for the Uncle Wilber Fountain.
