American Red Cross Pikes Peak Chapter
The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
Description:
Your local Pikes Peak chapter provides relief to victims of house fires, tornadoes, wildfires and other such disasters that affect the Pikes Peak region by providing for immediate, emergency disaster-caused needs such as lodging, clothing, food and medicine. To help prepare our community for disasters, we provide prevention and preparedness tips through our "Be Red Cross Ready" community education program. We also certify community members and local business employees in safety courses such as first aid and CPR.
History:
Established in 1914, the Pikes Peak chapter serves eighteen Southern Colorado counties: Cheyenne, Kit Carson, El Paso, Teller, Crowley, Elbert, Kiowa, Fremont, Lincoln, Otero, Las Animas, Custer, Baca, Prowers, & Bent.
