The mission of the Arthritis Foundation is to improve lives through leadership in the prevention, control and cure of arthritis and related diseases.
Description:
The local office of the Arthritis Foundation is located in Colorado Springs but serves the southern half of the state of Colorado. We provide educational opportunities, maintain a speakers bureau, act as a resource for people living with arthritis or wanting to learn more about the disease, support Arthritis exercise classes and instructors in the southern Colorado region and conduct two fundraisers a year, the Jewels of the Vine Wine Tasting and the Arthritis Foundation Walk.
History:
The Arthritis Foundation was founded as a national organization in 1948 and the Rocky Mountain Chapter was established in 1950. We are the only national voluntary non-profit health organization dedicated to finding the cause, prevention and cure for many forms of arthritis. The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation serves the three state area of Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming, providing services to over 1,000,000 in our chapter area with arthritis and related diseases.
